A 40 hectare vineyard in Santa Ynez Valley, California, has been put on sale for $9.9 million, boasting plantings of seven different varieties, with the opportunity for expansion.

The vineyard is located at the gateway to the Los Olivos wine trails in the Santa Ynez Valley of Santa Barbara County, California.

Over nine hectares are currently planted with seven different grape varieties, with four hectares still plantable.

The seven varieties currently planted include Sauvignon Blanc, Grenache Noir, Mourvedre, Grenache Blanc, Cabernet Franc, Petite Syrah, and Cabernet Sauvignon.

The California vineyard on sale also boasts access to two wells, a 10,000-gallon water-storage tank, and a reservoir with a 11 ha foot capacity.

In addition to the current vineyard operations, the county has approved the development of a full-scale winery facility, including a three-story wine production and storage area, conference room, offices, restrooms, lobby, lab, and warming kitchen, according to the listing by Joe Ramos, of Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices California Properties.

The property also has permissions to support a tasting room, 8,000-plus square feet of retail space, a permanent parking area with 68 places, and an overflow parking area for special events.

Additionally, the property has been approved to offer 8 special events per year with up to 150 attendees, and an unlimited number of events for 80 people or less, according to its listing.

In other news, Airbnb’s new ‘Vineyard’ category is coming up rosé for hosts, after the property rental giant reported that stays near vineyards earned more than $270 million for its hosts in the US this spring.

In the US alone, “hosts offering stays near vineyards collectively earned more than $270 million in Q2 2022 alone, with an individual US Host in the Vineyards Category typically earning more than $8,000 over the same period”, Airbnb said. Read more on that story here.
